TEN-YEAR PLAN FOR A REMARKABLE LIFE
If you don't know who Debbie Millman is, run—don't walk—to download this podcast she did with Tim Ferris, where she talks about a visioning exercise she calls "Ten-Year Plan for a Remarkable Life." Someone was so moved by this idea that they made a website for it, if you'd like to cut to the chase.
THIS IS MARKETING
The term "marketing" can be off-putting to some people, but really, this book is about thinking empathetically about your clients/customers/users, and how you can be a force for good in the world through your business. Also, Seth Godin is an absolute master of communicating thought-provoking material in a direct and digestible way. I recommend his brief but often insightful daily newsletter as well.
START WITH WHY
Perhaps I should move this entry before This is Marketing, because before you start marketing your venture, you must understand why you're doing this business in the first place. Start with Why really made me think bigger about my purpose in the world, and how I can make an impact through my work.
THE LIFE COACH SCHOOL PODCAST
My own business coach, Nina Kaufman, recommended this podcast and integrates Brooke Castillo's teachings into the work we do together. I recommend you start way back at the very beginning to understand the foundations of her teachings.
