Eat Real Festival: an inclusive celebration of food & community
WHY THEY'RE DIFFERENT
THE MISSION
It’s almost a given now that food festivals in the Bay Area will be hyperlocal and sustainable. Eat Real Festival is an annual celebration of these same values, but with an added focus on inclusivity in the Oakland community.
Eat Real had outgrown their “county fair” brand system and the color palette felt heavy and dated. They were spending a lot of time and money every year redesigning their festival collateral, and they wanted a brand system that was flexible and signage that could last for the next 3-5 years.

HOW WE HELPED
Hope Meng Design developed a fresh and approachable branding system built around hand lettering and illustration. Eat Real Festival’s brand toolkit includes a set of illustrations representing good food, good drinks, and good people (ERF’s tagline) that can be swapped out from year to year and still feel different and fresh. The result is a brand that appeals to both families and hipsters with a fresh new color palette in an accessible style.
